Lisa "SelahRae" DuBois is a minister, educator, author, playwright, and spoken-word artist. She is somewhat a Disruptive Ministering poet. Founder of The Synoptik Lenzs and she blends theology, drama, and creative arts as a poet, preacher, playwright, and photographer. DuBois is a member, minister, and drama team ministry leader at The Resurrection Center in Wilmington, Delaware. DuBois is also a student at United Theological Seminary pursuing a PHD in Theology and Creative Arts. As multi-dimensional creative artist SelahRae lives in the lane of one lens, four perspectives...to challenge, convict, comfort and help her audience to embrace and celebrate change.
SelahRae Uncensored is provocative poetry for grown audiences. Not because it depends on profanity, vulgarity, or shock—but because it confronts the things we often think about, live through, participate in, and refuse to talk about. The work explores relationships, sexuality, choices, consequences, heartbreak, accountability, healing, and human behavior. My faith may surface in the lessons, convictions, and consequences woven through the work, but these poems are not written for the pulpit. They are written for the stage, the open mic, and the person willing to think. It's raw. It's real...and we are healing.
